Shaneen A. Harris was born and raised in Akron, Oh. She is a graduate of Akron Firestone H.S.
Shaneen received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University, a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Sierra Nevada College. She is married and has three adult children.
Shaneen's mother instilled in her early the need to be responsible for her education and goals. She taught her that education was the key to opening many doors. Half the battle was showing up. Because she wanted as many keys as possible.
Shaneen never missed a day of school and challenged herself to strive not just for her best, but better than the best that was available. "If I shoot for the stars and reach the moon, I still haven't done too bad. It's better than never letting my feet leave the ground."
Shaneen believes that, in a world where hope has been dismissed as merely an ancient word and dreams are only in fairytales, the world needs to be reminded that God is still the author of hope and the architect and constructor of our dreams: the dream giver and fulfiller.
Shaneen’s message of hope will inspire you to remember and believe in the unique potential God placed in you at conception that has been too long ignored. She wrote her first book at (9 years old), “The Case of the Missing Birthday Cake.” Her second book, “Reflections of My Thoughts” uses her love of poetry to express her life challenges and victories and God’s messages of love and encouragement to her. She recently completed her third book "Because God Said So" and is currently crafting her fourth, yet untitled, work.
